New participants land on a guided setup path before they see the full dashboard. It exists because almost everything that goes wrong later in the challenge traces back to one of two things that are quick to fix on day one: joining the wrong group, or never finishing the tracker connection.
Step 1 · Your challenge
eFit shows you the organizer, challenge and group your activity will count toward. Read all three lines.
- If they are right, choose Yes, this is my challenge.
- If anything is wrong, choose No, switch challenges. That takes you to the Your Challenges page, where you can switch to the correct group.
This is the single most valuable minute in setup. Your steps count toward whichever group your account says you are in, so a wrong group here means your Activity Score lands in the wrong Score Book, and it has to be untangled by hand later.
Step 2 · Your tracker
eFit reads your steps and active minutes from Google Health. Connecting takes about a minute and it is what turns your daily activity into an Activity Score.
- It works with an Apple Watch, Pixel Watch, Samsung, Garmin, Fitbit, and with your phone on its own if you do not own a watch.
- eFit reads activity totals only. It never posts anything and never reads your messages.
- You can disconnect at any time from the Fitness Tracker page.
If you are not sure how your watch reaches Google Health, use the Walk me through it, step by step link on that step. It is a guided walkthrough for your specific brand, and it returns you to setup when you finish.
Choosing I don't have my tracker yet is a perfectly good option. Nothing is scored until you connect, and the reminder stays on your dashboard until you do.
Step 3 · First data
This step tells you where you actually stand. You will see one of four things:
- You're ready for [date]. Your challenge has not opened its tracking window yet. Activity before that date is not counted, so there is nothing to do today.
- Your data is arriving. eFit can already see activity on your account. The connection works and your daily activity is being recorded.
- One more step on your phone. Your account is linked but nothing has come through yet. That is normal on the first day. Open the Google Health app on your phone, wait for it to finish syncing with your watch, then come back and use Sync Now on your Fitness Tracker page.
- No tracker connected yet. Nothing is being recorded. Go back to step 2 whenever you are ready.
Step 4 · This week
The last step shows the goal your organizer set for this challenge: a daily step target, a weekly eFit Minutes target, or both. When there are two, you are scored on whichever one goes better for you, so meeting either is a full week.
Only your best days each week are counted, which is why a rest day does not cost you anything. Your exact numbers stay on the Activity Score page for the whole challenge.
If you skipped setup
Nothing is lost. You can open it again at challenge.efit.health/dashboard/setup/, and the reminder to connect a tracker stays on your dashboard until you do.
The guided path offers itself for about two weeks around the date your challenge's tracking window opens. After that you keep the normal dashboard, and everything setup does you can still do directly: confirm or switch your challenge from Your Challenges (Join a Challenge in the avatar menu), and connect a tracker from Fitness Tracker.
