A walking journey turns the steps you are already taking into distance along a real route. Everyone in your challenge walks it together, and you can see how far along you are at any point. Open Progress > Walking Journey in the left menu.
How your distance is worked out
eFit totals the steps recorded on your account inside your activity tracking window and converts them to distance, shown in both miles and kilometres. There is nothing to start, join or switch on. If your tracker is connected and your steps are arriving, your journey is already moving.
Because it draws on the same step totals as your Activity Score, a journey that has not moved is the same signal as a score that has not moved, and the same three checks apply. See Troubleshooting Fitness Tracker Sync Issues.
What is on the page
- Your journey route, a map of the route your organizer chose, with your current position marked.
- Journey details, the distance you have covered, the distance remaining, and the landmarks ahead.
- Rewards, if your organizer set any. A reward is attached to a distance, and it unlocks when you pass that point.
Getting further
Distance comes from ordinary steps, so the things that move a journey are the things that move a step count: walking to work or to a meeting, taking the stairs, and a deliberate walk most days. A single long walk moves you a satisfying distance, and consistency across the week moves you further.
Your steps count once. They feed your Activity Score, your badges and your journey at the same time, so there is nothing to divide between them.
If your journey looks stuck
The journey only counts days inside your activity tracking window, so a journey showing no distance at the start of a challenge usually means the window has not opened yet. Check Your Activity Tracking Window first, then Activity Data to confirm your steps are arriving day by day.
Which route your challenge walks, and which rewards exist, are set by your organizer. Ask them if the route looks wrong for your challenge.
