Connect eFit on an iPhone (Google Health App and Apple Health)

eFit works on iPhone through the free Google Health app, which brings your Apple Health activity into your Google account so eFit can read it.

What you need

  • An iPhone with the Health (Apple Health) app, which comes pre-installed.
  • The free Google Health app from the App Store.
  • The Google account you will connect to eFit.

Step 1: Set up the Google Health app

  1. Open the App Store and search for Google Health.
  2. Install and open the app.
  3. Sign in with your Google account.
  4. If the app offers to pair a Fitbit device, skip that screen. eFit works without any wearable; your iPhone's steps arrive through Apple Health.
  5. When prompted, allow Google Health to read your Apple Health data (steps, active energy, heart rate, workouts).

Apple Health already collects steps and activity from your iPhone, your Apple Watch, and any fitness apps that write to it.

Step 2: Connect eFit

  1. Log in to eFit and open Fitness Tracker (/dashboard/sync.php).
  2. Tap Connect with Google Health.
  3. Sign in with the same Google account you used in the Google Health app.
  4. Approve every permission so eFit can read your steps and active minutes.

Your iPhone activity now syncs to eFit each night, the same way it does for Android users.

Tips

  • Use the same Google account in both the Google Health app and the eFit connection. A different account is the most common reason activity does not appear.
  • Use a personal Google account, such as an ordinary Gmail address. Employers, colleges and schools normally block the accounts they issue from signing in to outside apps, so a work or organization address you registered with eFit is likely to be refused. The account you use here does not have to match your eFit login. If a Fitbit password page interrupts the Google sign-in, see Sign In With Google Sends You to a Fitbit Page.
  • Open the Google Health app now and then so it can pass along your latest Apple Health data.
  • Wear your Apple Watch and carry your iPhone so Apple Health records your steps.
Steps in Apple Health but nothing in Google Health? The bridge between the two apps is a connection you switch on inside Google Health, and it is easy to miss during setup or to leave with categories switched off. Google Health Is Not Syncing With Apple Health walks through repairing it.
