Getting Started with eFit
Creating your eFit account is a simple process that takes just a few minutes. Follow these steps to get started.
Before You Begin
You'll need:
- Your challenge registration link (provided by your challenge organizer)
- A username: the exact one your organizer gave you, or one you will remember
- A valid payment method ($25 fee)
- Basic health information (age, height, weight)
Step 1: Access Registration
Click the registration link provided by your organizer. This link contains your specific challenge ID, which makes sure you join the correct challenge.
Step 2: Create Your Profile
Fill in your personal information:
- First and Last Name - use your legal name as it appears in your organization's records
- Username - if your organizer gave you a username, it must exactly match what they gave you. Your organizer matches your activity to you by this username. Otherwise, choose a username you will remember. You will use it to sign in.
- Password - minimum 8 characters. A strength indicator will help you create a secure password.
- Health Profile - enter your age, gender, height (in inches), and weight (in pounds)
- Timezone - select your local timezone for accurate activity tracking
Step 3: Complete Payment
The fee is $25. You can pay via PayPal or credit card. If your organization provided you with an access code or purchase code, enter it on this step.
Step 4: Verify and Complete
Complete the verification step and submit your registration. You'll receive a confirmation email with your login details.
Step 5: Connect Your Activity
After registration, you'll be prompted to connect your activity through Google Health, so eFit can record your steps, workouts, and heart rate automatically. Registration also asks for your date of birth (type it as MM/DD/YYYY; the slashes appear on their own): eFit uses it to calculate your eFit Minutes, because your heart-rate zones depend on your age, and for your Fitness Check. It is never shown to other participants.
If the date of birth field will not accept what you typed
- The month goes first, then the day, then the year: 05/26/2001 for May 26th.
- Use all four digits of the year (2001, never 01).
- The day has to exist on the calendar. 02/30 and a month above 12 are both refused, and a month above 12 usually means the day was typed first.
- Your date of birth needs to make you between 13 and 100 years old. A date in the future, or a year before 1900, is refused.
See Connect eFit With Google Health.
Important Notes
- If your organizer gave you a username, enter it exactly. This is how your organizer matches your activity to you
- Choose whether you want your name visible on the challenge leaderboard or remain anonymous
